Oregon Episcopal School - HR Office
ABOUT US: Oregon Episcopal School occupies a wooded 59 acre campus where 880 students in Pre-K through 12th Grade share an excellent faculty, an inquiry based curriculum, and a strong sense of community. The School values employees who seek to continually develop the OES Essential Competencies in themselves and others and are prepared to engage in a vibrant, culturally diverse learning community. JOB SUMMARY: The scope and scale of this position is contingent upon finalization of the budget for the 21-22 school year. The baseline role will teach 2-3 sections of 9th grade health and human development each semester, serve as an advisor for 6-8 students, and lead a co-curricular Activity. In addition to building on and iterating the current 9th grade health curriculum, the more robust version of the role will also collaborate with the Upper School Student Life team to design and implement wellness education and programming in grades 9-12; manage co-curricular initiatives, including Activities and student clubs; and develop a 9th grade transitional experience that introduces Upper School students to social justice, community engagement, and lifelong learning skills. In any version of this role, the successful candidate will be an experienced high school educator with an expertise in and knowledge of health and wellness curricula, as well as an innovator looking to create transformative and empowering experiences for young adults. A particular interest in and experience with 9th and 10th graders is a plus.
