Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist - Spitzer Lab The Spitzer Lab in the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery is now recruiting for a Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist. The responsibilities for this position include helping with experimental preparation for studies of the immune system, particularly using single-cell methods such as mass cytometry and single-cell genomics. In addition, this lab member will participate in the analysis of data from these studies and will be responsible for helping with general lab maintenance and organization on an ongoing basis. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a Bachelor’s degree. Preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or a field related to Biomedicine, or in Computer Science, Statistics, or a field related to data analysis. Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a Master of Science degree. Preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or a field related to Biomedicine, or in Computer Science, Statistics, or a field related to data analysis. Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess (or in process of obtaining) a terminal degree (or equivalent degree). Preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or a field related to Biomedicine, or in Computer Science, Statistics, or a field related to data analysis. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Applicants must have obtained the degree requirement for the Specialist rank by the time of hire. Candidates must have expertise in one of the following areas: flow or mass cytometry, single-cell genomics, transcriptomics, or analysis of biological data. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
