Position Purpose: To be part of a team that builds, maintains and deepens relationships to inspire support of Teton Science Schools with a focus on the TSS Mountain Academy. To inspire, solicit, steward and retain donors whose passions align with the TSS and Mountain Academy mission. To align philanthropic practices and approach across the TSS Mountain Academy while understanding and honoring TSS program differences and differentiating engagement. To collaborate actively with development, communications, marketing and Mountain Academy leadership and faculty to integrate fundraising and stakeholder engagement into school experiences and expectations. Co-vision and lead towards fundraising goals and outreach approach in Mountain Academy. Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills (writing, proof-reading and speaking) and proficiency with Google products and CMR systems. • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly relationship building, and relationship management. • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, Independent School annual fundraising • Interest and ability to lead projects from start to finish • Demonstrated excellence in program leadership, teamwork and team communication • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of relevant job work experience preferred. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: • Framing: ability to perform physical tasks on a daily basis including but not limited to: • Able to write / type / communicate • Able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 8 hours • Primarily based at Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools with potential meetings/interactions/work on all campuses locations • Active presence in the school: at least 1 day per week at each campus working in the administrative offices of the school. Responsibilities: 50% Donor Relationship and Stakeholder Management • Work with TSS Independent School Head of School and campus Associate Heads of School to identify, solicit, and steward donors. • Work with the Independent School Admissions department to educate and develop philanthropic culture with incoming families. • Lead Mountain Academy Annual Fund Campaign with a focus on the creation and management of the solicitation pipeline and personally soliciting major gifts. • Manage a holistic, donor-center approach to solicitation and stewardship for donors that are connected to Mountain Academy and at times multiple program areas at TSS. • Create, maintain and strengthen relationships with graduating and former students and families. • Support ongoing major donor efforts across TSS not limited to, but with a focus on, Mountain Academy donors. • Research, assist in the development, and support the implementation of new fundraising initiatives including capital campaigns. • Engage students in teaching, support or mentorship as defined in collaboration with Head of School. 20% Leadership of Mountain Academy Development and Outreach • Assist in developing and managing the Mountain Academy annual fundraising budget (annual funds, event revenue, etc): budget oversight $501k - $999k. • Actively use and make more effective technological systems related to independent schools fundraising (CRM). • Accountable for the fundraising aspects of events & appeals. Consult with colleagues in implementation. Lead all committees associated with fundraising and events at Mountain Academy (gala, parent council, 3-week, barn dance, Tin Cup, Old Bills, etc). • Staff liaison to the Mountain Academy Parent Council. • Strategic involvement in project based Mountain Academy Fundraising and TSS wide Capital fundraising. • Engage as a member of the Mountain Academy Leadership Team. 25% Events and Campaigns, Alumni Engagement • Vision and implement Mountain Academy events with contract staff, committees and support staff. Accountable for events revenue streams and expenses. • Co-vision and consult on Mountain Academy fundraising marketing collateral with Marketing and Communications. • Vision and implementation of alumni relations model to educate current alumni around philanthropy and ongoing Mountain Academy updates. • Collaborate with Development Staff to consider stakeholders perspective to streamline and leverage outreach and communications for donors connected to both campuses of Mountain Academy. • Create, plan and implement (in collaboration with contract and assistant staff) outreach, fundraising and stewardship activities for Mountain Academy including personal meetings and smaller cultivation or stewardship events. 5% One TSS Responsibilities • Proactively and positively shares the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders. • Cross markets TSS programs when opportunities arise. • Collaborate with Advancement team around holistic vision for TSS philanthropy regarding systems, approach and culture. • When appropriate, manage donor relationships outside of independent schools based on circumstances and connections. • Contribute to inclusive work and learning environments through continually developing cultural competency.
