Position Summary: This position is responsible for expert knowledge of all diagnostic radiology procedures with emphasis on leadership qualities, by supporting the Diagnostic Radiology manager position. This employee is sought out by others for advice and clarification of job related knowledge. Effectively communicates, coordinates, delegates, and assigns the daily activities of the Diagnostic radiology department staff. Facilitates, organizes, and reviews the daily workflow to deliver maximal throughput of radiology customers. The lead technologist will assists the manager in creating and managing staff schedules, daily assignments, supply needs, new employee training, staff education, and other duties as directed. Prioritizes, motivates, and promotes quality patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Swedish Medical Center. Ensures facility technical and documentation expectations are consistent with TJC regulations and Swedish Medical Center (SMC) standards. Positively demonstrates concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees. Demonstrates independent critical thinking skills for daily activity and patient flow of the Diagnostic Radiology department and assumes accountability for personal and team contributions. Registered technologist with current certification in Radiography by ARRT and CE compliance. Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.
Graduate of 24-month AMA approved school of Radiological Technology. .
2 year previous diagnostic experience in acute care facility desirable.
Familiar with the majority of diagnostic radiology procedures. High degree of manual, mental and dexterity skills necessary for operation of equipment and patient care. Capable of applying technical skills to all ages of patients.
Able to work independently. IV. Orientation Period: 60 days contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by department Director/designee.
