Tenure-Track Nursing Professor (Assistant or Associate Professor)

The University of Portland’s School of Nursing (nursing.up.edu) welcomes applications for full-time tenure-track nursing faculty at the assistant and associate professor levels. The priority areas of expertise are mental health, integrative health, acute and/or chronic care nursing of adults and children, simulation, and leadership. DNP-NPs are encouraged to apply. The School of Nursing values a diversity of backgrounds and intellectual perspectives that create an environment of rich student mentoring within a community of scholars. The undergraduate and doctoral programs are built on the interconnectedness of individual social needs, clinical care and community conditions.

The School of Nursing is ideally suited for candidates with a focus on cultivating human learning capacity. The School of Nursing implements state of the art simulation in ambulatory, acute, and telemedicine facilities.

These are full-time faculty positions at the assistant and associate professor level with benefits. Responsibilities:

Undergraduate baccalaureate generalist nurse faculty job responsibilities include but are not limited to team teaching in a concept-based nursing curriculum across the lifespan and care continuum.

Graduate faculty job responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner and/or Adult-Gero Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Programs.

All faculty teach across programs, as well as assist students in achievement of course objectives, guide student interaction in course-related work groups, and grade coursework and provide feedback.
