Staff Human Factors Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work strategically with product managers, designers, and engineers to prioritize research opportunities and create long-term usability goals in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Build an innovative culture and environment by promoting psychological safety, encouraging intellectual integrity, and smart risk-taking.
• Perform and support research relating to identifying the user, their needs, environments, values, and pain points for creation of a use specification.
• Perform risk-analysis according to usability standards and guidelines (uFMEA, task analysis/ use-error analysis)
• Plan, conduct and analyze research according to usability plans using the appropriate methods (field studies, heuristic evaluations, user testing, focus groups, surveys, etc.).
• Write and present effective and compelling findings and recommendations based on research.
• Track usability issues throughout the entire product development process and report progress toward meeting usability goals to management.
• Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Augment with additional resources (DBSO, outside resources) where applicable, and improve DBS training and facilitation by pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others while driving the progression of candidates through a DBS Certified Practitioner (CP) funnel to build organization muscle and capability across the domains within DBS.
