Full-Time Associate Dean of Education

Job SummaryThe Associate Dean of Education at Bushnell University oversees the Teacher Education programs and is a member of a dynamic group of Teacher Education faculty team. The Associate Dean must possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong leadership and administration skills. The Associate Dean of Education must be knowledgeable about Oregon State and Federal Education laws, accreditation standards, policies, and best practices. The position requires a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity. The Associate Dean leads faculty and staff in community partnership cultivation and new program development for the department. As a member of faculty the Associate Dean routinely teaches up to a half-time load (6 credits per fall/spring semester & 3 credits in the summer). The Associate Dean supervises full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and departmental staff, and is responsible for program delivery and program assessment. The Associate Dean serves in an entrepreneurial role in assisting the VPAA to identify, research, and develop opportunities for program development, both for new and existing programs. The Associate Dean is a member of the VPAA’s Dean’s Cabinet. Successful performance in this position will be evaluated in terms of 1) innovative leadership for the department; 2) significant and sustainable enrollment growth in departmental programs; 3) enhanced departmental and university standing within the local and global Christian community. Experience and Qualification RequirementsMinimum Masters degree in appropriate field of teacher education. A solid record of accomplishment in higher education administration and teaching experience (3-5 years’ experience preferred). Knowledge of the Oregon Comprehensive Guidance Counseling Framework, and TSPC/AAQEP Standards for teacher educators is essential, along with familiarity with curriculum standards and new program development protocols. Ability to utilize Windows based software including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience utilizing Candidate must be actively engaged in a Christian congregation and able to identify with and support the Bushnell Theological Context for Community statement.
