HMC RADIOLOGY ADMIN has an outstanding opportunity for a full time night shift HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNICIAN 3. The Health Information Technician 3 will: •Monitor the radiology Information Systems order queue. •Schedule Trauma exams, ED and portable exams (CT, MRI, US, PLAIN FILMS) including outside exams. Scan outside report in to PACS, Attached verification form regarding reformats/3D to patient account. •Communicate various types of medical information to patients, family members, referral agencies, Nurses, Physicians and the community such as registration policies, and release of patient information, scheduling Radiology exams and explaining proper Radiology procedures/exams protocol. •Triage phone calls. •Assist physicians/Nurses locate Radiology Studies, verifying patient identification at bedside for exams. Import CDs coming with patient via ED using Sorna. •Assist in orienting and training new Physicians/Nurses regarding Radiology workflow. •Assist Technologists with paper work flow and verification of exams in PACS. •Assist Radiologist regarding status of outside images coming from any outside Institutions VIA EA telerad, eMix and LifeImage requested VIA EWB. Verify unread exams, and update 40 status to 90 for edits. •Respond to patient questions following a variety of Radiology work procedures and methods including transfer of images via PACS and PACSCUBE. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) program AND eligible for registration as an RHIT AND one year of experience in health information management OR equivalent education/experience. |
