UW Medical Center- Montlake 5SA CARDIOTHORACIC SURGICAL ICU has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (30 hours per week), night shift, PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN. 5SA is a Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU caring for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, and cardiomyopathy patients requiring mechanical circulatory support. RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIREMENTS Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington. AND High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience. LEGAL REQUIREMENT A Washington State Health Care Assistant, Level “A” certification is required within 6 months of employment. (This certification is required to perform venous blood withdrawal procedures and capillary blood glucose checks, and can be achieved through successful on-the-job training.) ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT Valid BLS/CPR Card successful on-the-job training.
