![]() University of Idaho IdahoSTARS Child Care Health Consultant Location: Off Campus Location - Twin Falls Division/College: College of Education, Health & Human Sciences Employee Category: Classified Pay Range: $23.84 per hour or higher depending on experience and education Full/Part Time: Part Time Position Summary: This position promotes healthy and safe child care by assisting with program policy development and implementation of quality health, safety, and nutrition practices in early care and education settings. This position provides coaching, training, and resources to child care directors and providers, families, and regional and statewide partners. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in a health-related field. May include professionals such as pediatric nurses, community health nurses, physician assistants or health educators. Preferred Qualifications: Education and training: Licensed health professional Endorsement in Early Childhood Mental Health Specialized training in child care health consulting Knowledge of: Early care and education Health and safety standards in child care Injury prevention for children Oral health of children Inclusion of children with special health care needs in child care settings Safe medication administration Safe sleep practices and policies Immunization schedules for children Developmental screening tools and procedures for use Ability to: Maintain a high level of confidentiality Interact and communicate with others effectively Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in composing written statements Manage a variety of projects simultaneously Portray a professional demeanor Work evenings and weekends Understand written and spoken English and Spanish languages Travel to site visits in assigned regional areas Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Posting Number: SP002689P Posting Date: 01/11/2021 Closing Date: Open Until Filled: Yes Special Instructions: Applicants need to address each individual required qualification, along with preferred qualifications that apply, in the letter of qualification.
