THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Assistant Director of Environmental Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing custodial operations in order to provide a clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The Assistant Director will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Assistant Director establishes operational objectives and initiatives for a large department across multiple buildings. Assistant Director is involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect operations and have hospital-wide impact. Establishes and oversees adherence to budgets, work plans, andperformance requirements. Provides resources to meet schedules and goals. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Works on issues requiring an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Serves as subject matter expert. Under the direction of the Director and along with the EVS leadership team, the Assistant Director will lead and motivate a large workforce of approximately 450 FTEs including managers, training specialists, analysts and supervisors across multiple sites. The Assistant Director will recruit, develop, and mentor the Environmental Services managers and supervisors by defining needs through strengths and assessments and incorporating the principles of Relational and Therapeutic Practices.
