Need 2 RN Travelers for Straight Days ASAP. 75 mile radius rule Medical Surgical is a 25 bed unit with a very diverse population of medical-surgical patients. Services provided include (but are not limited to): COPD, asthma, pneumonia, DVT prevention and treatment, hypoxia, diabetes, HTN, infectious disease, surgical urology patients, adult general surgery patients, wound care, and telemetry monitoring. The majority of patients experience a multiplicity of issues requiring multiple levels of care ranging from general to intermediate level. Typical RN to patient ratio is 1:4-5 (days) to 1:5-6 (nights). Certified Nursing Assistants are assigned to the nurses and are delegated to according to the nurse practice act.
This unit is a dynamic and fast paced environment rich with opportunity for learning. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages team work between physicians, nursing staff, therapy staff, social work and a variety of other consulting disciplines to provide the most comprehensive care for our patients.

Job Duties
* Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
* Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
* Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
* Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
Skills and Abilities:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
