Summary: Assesses and manages critically ill patients during transport by ground or rotor.
Work Schedule: PRN Flex
Responsibilities: Administers initial treatment at emergency scenes and records patient vital signs.
Transports sick and injured persons to and from treatment centers. Handles 911/bariatric calls as assigned. Reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Drives the ambulance to and from scenes and treatment centers. Adheres to protocols for patient safety goals, fall and skin precautions, restraint use, and medication administration.
Identifies opportunities for practice changes based on current evidence-based nursing literature and research findings. Educates patient and family, using population-specific criteria. Provides public education presentations as needed.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Other information: Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Required Licensure/Certification: Multi-state eNLC compact RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Valid Drivers License.
Required within 1 year of hire: Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Nurse Course (ATCN) or Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC); Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
Required within 2 years of hire: Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) or Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN).
Minimum Experience: 3 years critical care nursing experience. Preferred: Critical care ground, flight, and pediatric nursing experience
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
This position's pay range starts at: $31.230000/hour.
An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
