The Emergency Department Observation unit at St. Anthony Hospital is a 16-beddepartment with volume of more than 300 patients a month (usually 300 to 310). We takeany patient needing further time to be observed from the ED. If a patient needs furthertesting or monitoring and is not appropriate to stay in the ED, then our department will takethem. Our top two diagnoses are chest pain and abdominal pain. We also accept patients
that are sent from surrounding free standing EDs with the same criteria. Our departmentonly takes patients with an OBS status, we do not take overflow from other departments. Ifa patient needs more care than what can be done within 24-48 hours, we will transfer to aninpatient unit. The departments mission is to deliver safe quality care to every patient in atimely manner. Most people join this team because they have an interest in emergencymedicine. This department is a great place to get your feet wet on emergency roompatients. You will receive all types of patients and work alongside a mid-level provider (PAor NP) with every patient. We are a close-knit team and get opportunities to learn aboutmany different disease processes. We want to help our team members achieve theirnursing goals and help them attain education or certification to be closer to the ED positionthat they may desire. We look for candidates who are open, willing to ask questions,flexible with schedule, able to see the broader picture and are fast learners. This is a veryfast-paced department and we admit and discharge patients on every shift. Nurses whowork here must be adaptable to change and willing to work hard as they will be very busyon this unit.

Job description:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team,and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes theoptimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient carestandards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship-based care,organizational mission, and core values.

**$15k bonus paid out over 2 years for new employees that have 1 year of RN experience**

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• RN License required;Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
• Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact.Upon issuance of a new multistate license,the former license is inactivated. • Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required;Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within 90 days
• One year RN experience required
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The pay for this position starts at $28.85 to $40.62 per hour and may vary depending on experience. Total Compensation may include the following benefits:
