As a Certified Cancer Registrar / CTR Data Analyst you need to know how to:
Support care site accredited cancer programs (CoC, NAPBC) through standard tracking, documentation and completion of the SAR or BSAR. Work closely with our care site partners to develop strong positive working relationships
Report cases to regulatory and accrediting agencies. Access the National Cancer Database (NCDB) update cases and pull data as needed
Perform data analysis according to appropriate methodologies. Prepare clear, concise, understandable tables, graphs and reports
Be proficient in navigating various software platforms, i.e. acute and ambulatory EMR, or ancillary applications such as radiology and the cancer registry database
Correctly code, utilizing required manuals such as; ICD-O Coding, AJCC Staging, FORDS, MPH, and other appropriate Cancer Registry reference materials and tools
Handle appropriate projects independently, set and meet deadlines and maintain ongoing projects
Communicate important information to manager
Complete required continuous training and education, including department and SCL Health requirements. Keep CTR current and up to date

Associateâ™s Degree in health information management or health-related field, required
Bachelorâ™s Degree in health information management or health-related field, preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a comparable setting, required
At least five (5) years of experience in a comparable setting, preferred
Knowledge of Commission on Cancer and National Accreditation Program of Breast Center programsâ™ requirements and standards, required
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification, preferred
