San Francisco Friends School, a Quaker school located in the Mission District of San Francisco, seeks an experienced lower school Spanish teacher for the 2020-21 school year, effective immediately through June 2021. The school seeks teachers who resonate with the Friends school mission, which provides an exemplary education in a community dedicated to peaceful problem-solving, service to others, community, and quiet reflection. Candidates need to have a strong Spanish language and instruction background, and be invested in collaborating with colleagues, working closely and developing relationships with elementary school students and families. Responsibilities include close teamwork for curriculum development, committee involvement, and student assessment. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons for two sections in each grade K-4th, class sessions would be synchronous on Zoom as well as asynchronous. The teacher will not have to be present for in-person teaching in the building.
