UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a DAY SHIFT, PART-TIME, ADMITTING REPRESENTATIVE. Incumbent performs a variety of admitting department tasks including but not limited to: Patient registration, general clerical support, customer service, and operating the switchboard. Employees will be cross-trained and expected to work efficiently and effectively in all assignments.
Performs admitting or pre-admitting procedures upon arrival of patients. This includes inpatients, individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or outpatient procedures, patients in the Emergency Room, and patients for scheduled/unscheduled procedures and surgeries
Greets, directs and assists patients
Ensures patients understand admission policies and procedures.
Collects necessary information to register patients
Switchboard Operation, includes but is not limited to: Promptly, courteously and calmly answers all calls through the switchboard
Implements emergency procedures calmly, efficiently, and accurately
Greets all patients and visitors in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner.
High school graduate or GED
Data entry Keyboard skills required, minimum 25 wpm
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Health industry experience
Experience working in admitting and/or switchboard operations
Customer service in a clinical setting
Able to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment and perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
