The Strategy Office operates under the direction of the Chief Strategy Officer and includes strategic planning, business development and growth, strategic program management and market analytics and reporting. We accomplish our work through intensive collaboration with the Executive Leadership of the UC Health System, Medical Center, School of Medicine and School of Nursing, as well as with Department Chairs and leadership from multi-disciplinary centers, programs and other operating units.

Responsibilities In conjunction with the Chief Strategy Officer, the Executive Director of Business Development and Growth is responsible for the identification of opportunities and development of concepts, business cases, and execution plans for internal UCDH departments, centers, institutes, and business units. In addition, this position would lead the analysis, development, negotiation and execution of external joint ventures, acquisitions, partnerships, an affiliate network, and business collaborations that meet UCDH's strategic objectives. The Executive Director is responsible for the management and socialization of the business development discipline internally, as well as mentoring and training our internal business owners.
Bachelor's Degree in a related disciplinary field such as Health Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, or exceptional experience in business development and growth within healthcare.
Must have 5+ years of management experience and demonstrated skills necessary to be responsible for strategic business case development and execution, as well as external development of partnerships, collaborations, joint ventures and/or affiliate networks.
Must possess healthcare administration knowledge and experience and must be confident in rapidly learning UCDH operations in order to be an effective strategic partner.
Must have administrative skills for developing and leading a successful team that oversees strategic business cases and projects.
Must show professional effectiveness as demonstrated by the ability to establish clear and challenging goals, as well as develop effective, realistic long- and short-range plans.
Must maintain schedules and systems in an organized fashion, exercise reason and sound judgment to make popular and unpopular decisions, use a broad perspective to build consensus, and use initiative, vision, and creativity to take on new tasks and generate innovative ideas, approaches and solutions.
Must bring negotiation and persuasion skills to create collaborative relationships across different departments with diverse missions and needs.
Must have communication skills to effectively convey information, concepts, instructions, and ideas in oral and written formats to a variety of audiences with diverse backgrounds, agendas, and levels of knowledge and expertise.
Master's Degree preferred in a related disciplinary field such as Health Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field, and exceptional experience in business development and growth within healthcare.
Special Requirements This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
