The USC Office of Admission is seeking an International Admission Officer (Admissions Program Manager I) to join our team. The International Admission Officerâs primary responsibility is managing their assigned international territories in coordination with the Associate Director, International Recruitment.
We are seeking experienced candidates with a demonstrated expertise and understanding of national and international higher education trends who applies best practices to international undergraduate recruitment and admission. Additional responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Managing all aspects of a recruitment and admission territory on behalf of the University, including creating and executing an in-person recruitment plan in different regions of the world; traveling internationally, typically, between 3 â 8 weeks per year.
Competitive candidates require a high-level of autonomy and a toolkit of cultural competencies to successfully & effectively navigate cultural mores with understanding, compassion, and confidence.
Providing presentations at high schools, conferences, and other speaking engagements, in-person and virtually; working with prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and other important University stakeholders.
Identifying, recommending, executing opportunities for staff training and professional development.
Setting goals and objectives for assigned territory, measuring performance against objectives.
Recommending changes or enhancements to existing programs based on continuous feedback and evaluation.
Reviewing first-year and transfer applications and rendering admission decisions for approximately 1800+ applications.
Applying transfer credit guidelines in the assessment of applications.
Resolving difficult problems referred by others and providing technical guidance, as needed.
Providing policy interpretation and review and deciding exception requests as deemed appropriate.
Maintaining professional currency through active participation and leadership in associations and committees â both internal and external to the University.
Evaluating and analyzing large data sets in search of novel insights that can be applied to international undergraduate recruitment.
Assisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans, strategies and materials aimed at enhancing recruitment and conversion.
This position is a Los Angeles based opening. Remote work is possible in some areas of the US while USC remains closed for most on-campus work due to COVID-19. This position reports to the Associate Director, International Recruitment.
