As aMedical Assistant II on the Transplant Admin Department you will be joining ateam of professionals who are dedicated to deliver excellent care to ourpatients. You will enable patients to reach their goals through carespecifically designed to cater to individual patient needs, and also administeredby some of the most highly skilled and trained providers in the Rocky Mountainregion.
Whatyou can expect from being a Medical Assistant with us:
Assist withtransplant clinic performing vital signs, obtaining weights of patients inclinic. Review current medication listwith patients.
Assist with pre and post kidney transplant, coordination ofadmissions, and schedule renal biopsies and radiology and admissions.
Communicatechanges in patients’ medical status to nurse coordinators, clinic nurses andphysician as appropriate
Scheduling ofclinic patients for follow-up appointments.
Notify patientsof upcoming appointments and provide instructions.
Retrieve andrecord laboratory test results in patient record. Retrieve results ofdiagnostic studies performed at P/SL and other facilities
Assisting nursingstaff with post-transplant phone calls, prescription refills and priorauthorization forms from insurance carriers for prescription coverage.
BLS certified. Medical AssistantCertification preferred.
Graduate of an accredited medicalassistant program preferred.
One year experience in hospital oroutpatient setting
Transplant experience preferred
