We are seeking a mature and professional individual to join our Compliance Alliance Division in the role of Compliance Officer.
This position works primarily with our Member banks to review transaction for compliance with banking regulations and is responsible for completing reviews in the areas of compliance and making recommendations for corrections and/or improvements of internal control system, policies and regulatory procedure. This position also performs clerical duties as required for report compiling and preparation in the areas of regulatory compliance. This will require contact with bank personnel and the senior management group.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review transactions, documents, records, reports, methods of internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare written reports of compliance test results for the Bank Audit/Compliance Committee and/or Board of Directors.
Prepare reports of compliance findings and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions or improvements.
Perform transaction tests as required by the compliance engagement program/plan in all major areas of the bank in relation to regulations.
Perform special projects as requested.
Work closely with supervisors, department heads, and examiners, the Board of Directors and Bank Presidents.
Assist with compliance training as needed.
Assist in reviewing loan registers for the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Community Reinvestment Act.
Review adverse action notices for adherence to regulatory requirements and ensure mailings to applicants within required time frame.
Communicate with bank employees to address compliance related questions and concerns.
Test process of maintaining compliance with OFAC and CIP and communicate with BSA Officer and Wire Department on such matters.
Promptly return phone calls and messages.
Conduct self in a professional manner.
Attend seminars and training to enhance and further education needed to perform the job.
Willing to travel on overnight stays.
Assist in internal compliance training program testing.
Maintain and complete current compliance testing procedures.
Assist in testing compliance with community reinvestment requirements (CRA).
Aide in the maintenance, monitoring and systems testing of compliance materials
Facilitate the implementation of regulatory requirements in the business process, policies and procedures

Qualified Candidates must:
Have 3-5 years banking, regulatory experience or compliance consulting
Professional certifications strongly preferred: CCBCO, CRCM, CFSA, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist or Commissioned Examiner
Be detail-oriented and have proof-reading skills for accuracy
Have strong verbal and written communication skills
Have the ability to analyze and interpret government regulations
Have a working knowledge of banking regulations (ie: FFIEC, Federal Reserve, OCC, CFPB, etc) as well as relevant rules and regulations governing the financial services industry
Have extensive knowledge of banking operations and products as well as the regulations affecting them
Have broad experience providing understanding of impact of current regulations
Have a deep understanding of how to evaluate risk and compliance initiatives and determine regulatory compliance-related risks throughout a bank
Have interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to attain deadline.
Have the ability to stand before a group to conduct training and discuss banking issues.
Gather and summarize data for reports and make recommendations to address issues.
Be honest and impartial.
