You Will Be Responsible For:
Â·Administers care for the obstetrical patient having surgical procedure in the Labor & Delivery Operating Suite.
Â·Intraoperative and post anesthesia care is in accordance with Hospital established standards of care. Performs steam sterilization processing of instruments and supplies for the MCH unit in accordance with Hospital standards for sterilization. Assures sterilization parameters have been met before utilizing supplies.
Â·Assists with the care of the newborn at deliveries.
Â·Maintains skills in neonatal resuscitation.
Â·Demonstrates assessment skills in both high risk and low risk obstetrical patients.
What You Will Need:
Â·A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or degree program.
Â·2 years of experience in general nursing to establish base of knowledge required.
Â·Current license or permit issued by the state of Texas to practice as a registered nurse or in a qualifying compact State.
Â· Obtains ENPC and TNCC certifications within 6 months of employment.
The registered nurse utilizes principles of the nursing process to provide for the continuity of nursing care administered to a specific group of patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the Emergency Room and hospital administration.
