JOB SUMMARY: Under minimum supervision, assists the Clinic Teamleader with specified administrative duties allowing the Clinic Team Leader to conduct patient visits. Assists in hires and supervises the daily activities of the clinic staff to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operation. identifies the training needs of new and existing clinic staff, and communicates the needs to the Clinic Team Leader. Prepares and conducts performance reviews of staff in conjunction with the Clinic Team leader. Assists in preparation of the clinic business plan and annual budget, and monitors clinic expenses monthly. Monitors patient flow within the clinic, flow to normal and supervises measures taken to return the flow to normal. Possesses the same clinical skills as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, Clinic Clerk, Patient Account Clerk and Customer Service Representative and assists in maintaining patient flow when required by vacations, absences, bottlenecks and heavy volume, as needed. Fosters and promotes teamwork and cooperation among all personnel to optimize patient customer service. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education: Graduation from high school or the completion of GED. Completion of Dental Assisting course, completion of Expanded Dental Assistants course, Radiology certification Experience: Typcially three to five years of experience in a dental related position. One year previous supervisory experience desired or completion of series of supervisory courses through Denver Health Authority or Career Service. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of Dental Assisting, of patient record maintenance, patient registration and billing. Knowledge of safety guidelines. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to follow Team Leader instructions/suggestions. Ability to schedule patients using inhouse scheduling software. Ability to calm patients/staff handle complaints when necessary. Ability to train/mentor staff. Ability to perform duties of a dental assistant. Knowledgeable of budget principles by articulated, verbally and in writing, budget needs and variances. ~A certificate of compliance with the required radiation safety examination issued by the State Board of Dental Examiners preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
