Pay Range: $66,955 to $83,679 per year depending on education and experience

Position Summary: The Accounts Payable Manager manages the day to day operations of the Accounts Payable department, which includes Travel Services and the Purchasing Card Program. The Accounts Payable manager promotes a strong customer service orientation, while ensuring appropriate internal controls against fraud, abuse, waste or misuse of funds. This position is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of systems, financial services products, legal and compliance issue, and best practices related to efficient operations and maximizing the use of University resources. This position works closely and cooperatively with other units within the Division of Finance and Administration and user departments to accomplish shared goals and objectives in support of the institutional mission.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or related field plus four years of experience in a complex accounting environment, including at least four years of supervisory experience. Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced and automated accounting operation using computer-based accounting systems. Experience analyzing complex and detailed financial data, identifying and correcting errors Experience in interpreting and applying regulations, laws and policies Experience with spreadsheet software
Preferred Qualifications: Professional certification: CPA, CMA, or Accounts Payable Manager (APM). Completion of formal supervisor training program. Experience in computer-based fund accounting system in a university setting. Experience in accounts payable processing. Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP. Ability to use tact when handling sensitive information and to use independent judgement and initiative to make decisions in difficult situations. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize tasks to meet deadlines. Effective communication skills.
