Our Finance Operations Global Consumer Retail AP Team is looking for a business leader in our Global Retail Accounts Payable function, with an emphasis on an exceptional employee experience within a robust controls environment. Amazon is hiring a Program Manager III – that supports Retail AP systems, processes and analytics. This position is the front line of our program driving global retail AP standardization and improvements. This role focuses on standardization, process improvement, systems improvements, and analytics including deep diving into processes and policies to drive improvements, utilizing process enhancements and technology that positively impact the overall customer experience. The role will focus on interdependencies of procure to pay processes; managing projects and collaborating with system and business owners globally to drive end-to-end improvements and visibility to compliance and policy programs. Having the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment is critical to this role.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a quick learner, and will have the ability to efficiently manage various high-priority and visible projects. The successful candidate will utilize various tools to support analytics, improvement recommendations, and creation of management dashboards relating to compliance and policy performance.The candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions that balance employee experience, controllership, and frugality.
Responsibilities: · Define and measure processes and policy reviews to ensure optimum customer experience. · Serve as a key business partner working directly with business leaders and cross-functional teams, presenting results of ad hoc business and statistical analysis and recommendations to senior management for optimal decision making. · Prioritize and serve as the business owner for key Retail AP Systems and Process initiatives, including but not limited to Retail AP policy management, governance, reporting, documentation, and analytics reporting. · Research, measure, analyze and develop reporting related to process and system requirements using Word, Excel, SQL, Essbase and other tools to achieve business goals. · Demonstrate advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture. · Review and measure systems performance on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly basis with business team and senior management using financial and operational reporting. · Researches and analyzes fluctuations between system and project assessments and reports on trends, material changes and recommends modifications or new controls. · Locate and identify sources of data, determine the validity of the data, and analyze the variance in the data between various systems and reports. Exceptional discipline of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects.

· MBA or CPA · 5+ years’ experience in process improvement and operational excellence · Excellent financial data analytics skills, including Excel, Tableau, Access, SQL Server, and other analysis tools · Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial operations functions · Experience delivering solutions through technology and the willingness to develop a deep level of understanding in a short period of time. · Experience of delivering cross-functional results in systems, policy and analytical roles · Detail-oriented individual that is comfortable interacting and working with multiple large teams globally - both business and technical. · Experience prioritizing competing demands, and scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines · Experience defining business requirements and helping identify solutions through both process improvement and technology. · Self-starter with demonstrated ability to stay organized and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities. · Experience communicating accounting systems, policies and processes with employees of all levels · Ability to write and deliver executive level communications · Ability to dive deep and work independently with limited general supervision · Experience analyzing system requirements, process improvement and policy review · Accounts payable, Shared Services, SOX controls experience · Reporting in multiple tools: Tableau, BI/BW, alteryx
