Job Summary/Basic Function: Lamar University invites applications and nominees for the position of Vice President of Information Management and Decision Support Services. Reporting to the president, the vice president will:
Oversee all core university software and applications, data storage and retrieval, data security, business continuity, institutional reporting and decision support analytics;
Seek to achieve the most effective means of securing, storing, and retrieving data, as well as monitoring data accuracy in support of all relevant constituencies;
Provide and cultivate an environment where technology and analytics are used as valuable resources in decision making;
Identify technological tools to implement work efficiencies and cost-effective technology solutions; and
Work in close collaboration with the software user community on campus and remain abreast of developments in the areas pertinent to these applications.
Provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of College policies, procedures and guidelines pertaining to data use, security, and storage.
Seek to align the performance of his or her office to support and further the strategic plan of Lamar University.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Information Management, Computer Science or related areas; preference will be given to individuals with a doctorate. Candidates must demonstrate a distinguished record of accomplishments in higher education, private sector, professional practice or public service commensurate with the expectations for this position.
