North/South 1 Adult Annex Area consists of 12 bed unit located in the old emergency department (ED) area one. The nurses in this unit provide care to stable adult patients whom have admission orders from the ED and are awaiting an inpatient bed assignment for admission. Our patient population consists of a wide range of medical surgical acute care illness. The Diverse nursing staff embodies collaborative team work approach to evidence base care to our patients with a high level of quality care.

Responsibilities Under the direction of the department manager, the role of the Hospital Unit Supervisor (Patient Support Services Supervisor) position is to provide immediate supervision to the Hospital Unit Service Coordinator Ill's and other administrative, para-technical, and volunteer staff as assigned. This position is responsible for oversight and supervision of day-to-day operations and general administrative support.
Skills to supervise an administrative and or/pare-technical team and to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of such education and experience.
Supervisory skills related to recruitment. organizing, scheduling, and assigning work, training and evaluating work performance, implementing counseling, discipline and corrective actions.
Knowledge of Fair Labor Practices, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and University policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of human resources management policies. with the ability to train. monitor, evaluate, and document human resources meters and employee performance.
Experience conducting group and individual training sessions.
Knowledge of and ability to follow appropriate Infection control techniques to safeguard other patients and visitors from Infected patients.
Strong computer skills Including EMR, ANSOS, eco-time, Aggie Service, e-mall, electronic calendaring systems, and MS Office applications. Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in nursing units or departments.
Experience preparing reports, memorandums and documents.
CPR certification within 3 months of employment and maintain current CPR Certification thereafter
Maintain flexible scheduling as required by workload and departmental needs.
May be required to work overtime and/or alternate shifts. weekends. holidays. variable hours. etc. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be willing to float to other units and assist as needed. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
