OSU-Cascades invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Assistant Clinical Professor or Associate Clinical Professor position for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. The Assistant Clinical Professor or Associate Clinical Professor rank, have expectations of teaching, scholarship, institutional/professional service, advising, and clinical work.
This posting will be used to hire up to four (4) faculty positions.
The OSU-Cascades DPT program is slated to launch in Fall 2021 with a cohort of 30-50 students. The program will be housed in a new state-of-the-art, net zero energy building currently under construction on the expanding OSU-Cascades campus in Bend, Oregon. Facilities for the program will include clinical-skills classrooms, cutting-edge biomechanics and exercise physiology research laboratories, and a large human cadaver laboratory. At full buildout, the DPT program will consist of 10 full-time core faculty and numerous adjunct faculty. All core faculty will be engaged in scholarly activity.
This clinical professor is expected to teach in his/her area of expertise across the wide range of DPT curriculum. This could include courses in the areas of motor behavior, biomechanics, physiology, pathology, physiology, principles of disease, orthopedics, neurology, anatomy, prosthetics and orthotics, and patient management. The successful candidate is also expected to engage in scholarship, participate in advising and service, and participate in clinical practice or clinical education.
OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon, is a campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,300 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its 10-acre campus in fall 2016. The Oregon legislature approved additional funding in 2017 and 2018 for continued campus expansion, which is currently in progress. The campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 students and is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.
Requires PhD or terminal degree and experience in the academic discipline/unit.
A clinical or academic doctoral degree (DPT or PhD) from an accredited university.
Physical therapists must possess an Oregon Physical Therapist License or be eligible for licensure in Oregon.
Demonstrated ability for excellent teaching. Strong communication and collaborative abilities.
Experience actively engaging in professional and/or community service activities.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to coordinate and effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in building/maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position will require occasional travel and some night/weekend work as determined by business needs.
