Position is located on the Behavioral Health and Wellness Center campus, and will primarily be outpatient with opportunity for some inpatient as well. Outpatient schedule is Monday-Thursday 9:00a-6:30p and Friday 9:00a-3:00p. No weekend coverage needed.

Using leisure as a treatment modality, patients utilize functional interventions such as leisure education and recreation participation to further develop, maintain and express an appropriate leisure lifestyle.
Therapeutic Recreation Specialists help the patient set goals for progress during hospitalization, plan and implement structured group programming and evaluate patient progress in meeting those goals prior to discharge using interventions such as creative expression, stress management and mindfulness techniques and clarifying patient’s leisure needs at home for continued exploration after hospitalization.

American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Card
Bachelor’sDegree from Accredited CTRS Program.
Master’s Degree preferred
2-4 years in an Acute Care setting.
MentalHealth care experience preferred
Must haveexcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and able towork with a highly diverse population.
Must be knowledgeable of ADAD and Joint Commission standards.
