The Clinical Dietitian I - Outpatient Health Center position provides nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy to patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to maximize patients' nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes. Primary responsibilities include managing the daily schedule to maximize patient care, and providing evidenced-based and patient-centered nutrition care to patients. Additional responsibilities include working within departmental and multidisciplinary teams to achieve departmental, facility, or system-wide goals, and training the next generation of dietetics professionals.
This position will split time between the Baytown Health Center (3 days) and the Strawberry Health Center (2 days). Work at the Baytown Health Center will consist of performing nutrition classes and individual nutrition appointments. Work at the Strawberry Health Center will consist of working in the food farmacy, which will include talking with patients about the food available in the food farmacy and performing brief nutrition interventions.
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Registered as a dietitian nutritionist (RDN) / dietitian (RD). Licensed as a Dietitian (LD) with the state of Texas within 60 days of hire. Spanish language fluency preferred, but not required.
2. Work Experience (Years and Area): One year of clinical dietitian experience preferred, but not required. Master's degree may substitute for one year work experience. Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of work experience.
