Here is what you canexpect from being a Trauma Nurse Coordinator with us:
Responsible for the identification and clinical evaluationand tracking of trauma service patients. Directs ongoing patient tracking,chart abstracting, and data entry of trauma service patients into the traumaregistry data bank. Responsible for quality assessment of patient care toinclude assisting with design and development of QA indicators, activeparticipation in outcome review, and initial screening for peer review issues.All trauma registry data and QA activities will comply with state and nationalguidelines to include the state trauma rules and regulations, American Collegeof Surgeons Committee on Trauma Optimal Guidelines, and JCAHO criteria. Providesongoing statistical reports and assists with developing specialized reports asrequired or assigned. Participates in trauma research as appropriate. Serves asa liaison between the trauma service and related departments. Performs otherrelated duties as required or assigned by supervisor. When department has more than 1 TCC, thevarious duties of the position will be distributed among the staff and not allstaff members may be assigned to perform all functions at a given time.

Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
Preferred: TNCC provider, ENPC or PALS (AHA or ARC), BLS and ACLS through AHA.
BNS or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Prefer experience as a Trauma Coordinator. If none, must have three years recent (within past four years) Emergency Department or Critical Care experience, preferably in a trauma center. Experience with Quality Improvement desired.
Musthave effective verbal communication skills in order to interact in a clear,concise manner with staff, physicians, and administration.
Computerskills to include data entry, reporting, and word processing.
Typingskills sufficient to complete the job in a timely manner.
Mustbe skilled in time management in order to coordinate and prioritize multipletasks.
Mustbe able to analyze charts to evaluate patient care and review for compliancewith trauma standards.
Knowledgeand experience with ICD-10 and AIS scoring tools is desirable.
