Position Description: The Chief Administrative Officer of the Rolfe/Campbell Humanities Group (RCHG) functions independently to support the teaching, research and public service mission of two separate academic departments (Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Department of Linguistics, across two buildings. The activities of the CAO include: financial management, human resource management, contract and grant administration, gift policy administration, facilities and materials management as well as information systems management. The CAO has a significant impact on every area of departmental activity. Supervise 12 career FTEs (10 directly and 2 through subordinates) across a complex organization that involves two locations and different support models. Establish performance standards and job duties for staff. Provide training and guidance to staff in their duties to develop them to their optimum level. Develop and implement office management policies related to staff work environment.
