Founded in 1965, the Department of Psychology at UC San Diego is one of the premier experimental psychology departments in the country. Currently, there are 28 faculty, 22 researchers and postdocs, 30 staff members, 1500 undergraduate students and 46 graduate students. The department has over 30 active federal contracts/grants and annual expenditures total over $10 million across federal, state, and gift funds.
Under supervision, the Lab Assistant will study the cognitive control functions of the human brain, especially using scalp EEG, in the Aron Lab in the Psychology Department of UC San Diego. The main duties concern: recruiting human subjects; placing the EEG cap; acquiring high-quality EEG data during a behavioral task; doing first steps of EEG data analysis in Matlab; for some studies, running Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. The position also includes some lab management/co-ordinating functions.
