Regular faculty teach assigned classes in accord with established guidelines and policies, participate in advising, committee assignments, other academic and institutional support activities, and supervisory responsibilities as assigned. This position will help the Department Chair administer the Cyber Security and Networking programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach all assigned classes (15-17 credits on average a semester).
Maintain and update syllabi for all courses included in the teaching assignments, including filing them each semester with the Chair.
Maintain accurate records of student performance in classes.
Engage in high quality formative and summative assessment practices.
Participate in program advisement and registration of students, as appropriate.
Turn in rosters and grades at the appropriate time.
Contribute to the processes of instructional planning, budgeting, assessment, and curriculum review.
Pursue continued professional improvement both in subject matter and instructional methods.
Institutional service responsibilities may include:
Assisting in hiring instructors.
Classroom observation and mentoring.
Assisting in course/class scheduling.
Developing curricula for programs related to assignment.
Developing and coordinating community outreach programs and alternative course formats.
Designing customized training and other entrepreneurial activities in areas related to assignment.
Assisting Chair with recruiting activities and materials.
Assisting the Chair with the evaluation and supervision of instructors.
Supporting student activities, especially international and cultural activities.
Assisting with student placement in classes related to the assignment.
Serving on committees.
Participating in in-service programs and professional development activities.
Attending meetings called by the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dean and Department Chair.
Assisting the Chair, Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs with other activities as assigned.
Each regular faculty member, as a part of his or her Annual Work Plan, shall develop a Professional Development Plan in consultation with his or her Chair
Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related major from a fully accredited college or university.
Must possess a State of Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential in Information Technology or have the ability to obtain such a credential prior to the second semester of employment. (Requires 2000 hours within last 7 years of professional industry experience in related IT field (1-year full time equates to approximately 2000 hours).
Ability to teach a range of computer related fields (Cyber Security, Networking, Computer Science/Programming, Project Management, and Applications).
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in networking infrastructure, cybersecurity, virtualization & cloud, and network administration.
Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Networking, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related major from a fully accredited college or university.
Current (or ability to obtain) industry and vendor certifications (CISSP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Linux+).
Knowledge of the National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE2Y) program and ability to help college obtain credential.
Fifteen (15) semester credit hours of teaching experience in a diverse learning environment.
Experience teaching with technology, in alternative formats (online, hybrid, CBE).
Proficiency in instruction, curriculum development, supervision, evaluation, and academic advising.
Experience with student learning assessment at the program level.
Demonstrated leadership experience and skills via boards, supervisory roles, or relevant experience.
Salary Range:? Anticipated salary range is $54,000.00 to 63,000.00. The specific salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan. Leave and holiday benefits are also included.
