The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a specialty area. The Digestive Health Center, located at the Center for Health and Healing (CHH2) is currently seeking an APP to support our Hepato-Pancreatico-Hepato-Biliary (HPB) practice (benign and malignant).
The specific focus of this position will be in support of the surgical practice as well as oversight and support of the Pancreatic Cancer High Risk clinic.
Provides clinical care and management of both benign and malignant patients in the outpatient setting
Clinics duties will include pre-op and post op care; cancer surveillance coordination and care; communication with other healthcare professionals; prescribing of medications; documentation in EPIC
Reviews outside records, completes full H&Ps, orders appropriate diagnostic studies and coordinates among providers
Provides same day response to medical advice and coordinates patient care, directly or in consultation with physician faculty
Ensures a coordinated, effective, high quality and efficient patient care process
Supports an interdisciplinary team approach in the care of the patient
Collaborates in education with residents, fellows, and medical students related to benign and malignant HPB surgery and care
Will be a valued member of the pancreas service conferences and meetings and will assist in facilitating the bi-weekly pancreas tumor board (OPTR) meetings
Provides complex decision making support to the General Surgery RNs
Masters Degree in Nursing, ACNP
Unrestricted Oregon State Board of Nursing
State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges
Valid / current PA license for Oregon
State of Oregon Licensure under MD
Current BLS Certification
Leadership and motivational attributes
