The Development Coordinator assists the Dean with the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of supporters of the University, and collaborates with the University Advancement liaison to strategically coordinate these efforts. Constituent groups include alumni, parents, faculty, staff and other friends of the University. The Development Coordinator provides administrative assistance including gift processing, drafting solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship documents; prepares prospective donor presentation brochures and materials; compiles financial reports, maintains calendars; and schedules travel arrangements and meetings. The Development Coordinator plans and executes college-based development events and collaborates with the University Advancement operations team for database management and gift recording.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
Excellent written & oral communications skills with extreme attention to detail; strong editing and proofreading skills.
Experience in maintaining accurate and efficient office files and other record-keeping mechanisms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals and groups at all organizational levels, both inside and outside of the university.
Ability to connect people with one another and, most importantly, to the College.
Ability to effectively articulate the goals and mission of Dodge College to various stakeholders.
Professional telephone etiquette skills and the ability to direct calls, give information, and take accurate and detailed messages.
Ability to maintain high professional standards and have an attitude of excellent customer service.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and make decisions appropriate for the position level.
Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize multiple projects, and complete them in a timely manner; maintain calendars and schedule appointments and meetings.
Proven ability to handle simultaneous deadlines, communicate effectively and maintain a positive composure.
Working knowledge of event planning.
Ability to utilize the Internet as a research tool.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel.
Technical skills to learn and use enterprise software.
