The Rice University Faculty Club at the Cohen House is a central fixture for faculty, staff and graduate students that serves the campus and the community through daily luncheons, dinners, weddings, receptions, celebrations and other special events. The Faculty Club is available and may be rented for special evening functions often for 50 to 300 guests. Only one event is hosted per day, so each event has the full attention of the dedicated staff.
The Faculty Club department coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Faculty Club's membership database and processing all membership applications. S/he manages the business process related to club revenue through the point of sale system and reconciles revenues and expenses for monthly Faculty Club statements. S/he will also track all contracts and deposits for private events, maintain and troubleshoot the reservations access database, make reservations for private rooms and tables for department luncheon business and all day meetings. S/he will answer Faculty Club phone calls and provide excellent customer service to enhance the over-all operation of the club.
The ideal candidate is able to work with a minimum supervision, self-motivated, self-directed, and dependable. S/he can deal effectively with multiple priorities on a timely basis and provide outstanding customer service.
