The Senior Materials Manager (SMM) is responsible for managing: (1) all materials management functions and supply logistics for departments within the PeriOperative Service line; and (2) the supply budget, equipment resources in a cost effective manner to maximize existing resources. The SMM collaborates with vendors, Harris Health System purchasing, physicians, PeriOperative staff and the management team to ensure optimum utilization of supply chains and financial resources. The SMM manages and supervises the Materials Manager, PeriOperative Materials Coordinator, supply clerks, and other personnel as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training: Education: BA/BS in business related field or Purchasing/Materials Management preferred or five (5) years of management experience in a surgical setting preferred.
2. Work Experience: Five (5) years materials management and supply logistics in the Operating Room or healthcare management of a large academy/teaching hospital preferred.
3. Management Experience: Three (3) years management or supervisory experience.
