Position Overview The Paul F. Cummins Library supports the needs of over 800 Middle and Upper School students, faculty, and staff on the 21st Crossroads campus. The Library Clerk is a staff position primarily responsible for a range of Circulation Desk duties. The Library is typically open Monday-Friday 7:30-6:00pm, although later hours, closing shifts, and some weekends might be required.
Essential Job Functions Assisting, supporting, and supervising students; opening or closing the library; processing new books and shelving library materials as needed; interacting with students and other members of the Crossroads community in a professional and friendly manner; and some collection development and weeding as needed.
Non-essential (Additional) Job Functions Collaborating with library staff for special events and displays; a desire to be involved and attend curricular and extra-curricular Crossroads School community activities such as sports, plays, concerts, and field trips; and other duties as required of staff.
Required Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Associates degree plus 3-4 years experience working with students aged 11-18; bachelors degree with 1-2 years experience; or MLIS degree (finished or in process) with desire to work in a school setting; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively; and basic tech skills.
