The University of Southern California is seeking a Program Administrator to help manage the universityâs Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program. Â The ideal candidate will have experience in some combination of academic administration, admissions, and/or student advising.
The Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program:
For almost two decades, the Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program at the University of Southern California has been preparing compassionate, intelligent and dedicated students for the pursuit of medical doctoral degrees. By providing a solid foundation in the basic science core curriculum and fostering a supportive community of enthusiastic faculty and competent students, our program enables students to excel in a competitive academic environment, collaborate with peers and encourage each other's development through each stage of the premed process.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Work with the Academic Director and Program Coordinator to execute all aspects of the program.
Provide a high level of customer service to the programâs students by responding in a timely and professional manner to all inquiries.
Write and disseminate correspondence to students regarding registration and enrollment policies, procedures, deadlines and fees, and other critical information.
Advise students regarding program and university policies and procedures via email, phone calls, and in person.Refer students to other program, school, or university staff and offices as necessary.
Provide general and academic counsel to the programâs students.Resolve student issues, problems and complaints and correct them with the Academic Director as necessary.Â Anticipate and correct potential student affairs issues before they become a problem.
Develop materials and strategies to promote the program to prospective students.
Coordinate and participate in on-campus and off-campus recruiting events and lead recruiting presentations for a variety of audiences.
Counsel prospective applicants and provide answers to inquiries in person, by phone, and by e-mail to supply general information on admission policies and procedures.
Read and evaluate applications and work with the candidates to finish incomplete applications.
Analyze data on the applicant pool, admitted applicants and enrolled candidates and provide analyses of various trends.
Work closely with USCâs Pre-HealthÂ Advisement Team to help students to develop and improve their graduate school applications.
Manage the programâs budget and track all expenses.
Supervise, manage the work schedule, assign work, and evaluate the performance of the Program Coordinator.
Bachelor's degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
A minimum of three yearsâ work experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong technical skills
Prior experience in an academic administration role
Knowledge of the medical school application process
Prior exposure to or experience working in sales, marketing, or recruiting
