ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Epic Client System Administrator (ECSA) serves as the technical lead in installing and administering the Microsoft Windows server infrastructure. Support day-to-day operations of critical Epic application environments serving Production, Non-production, Reporting, Training and Disaster Recovery to ensure the highest degree of systems performance and availability of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. The Systems Administrator 4 performs configuration, deployment, proactive monitoring, maintenance, and documentation of these systems. The Systems Administrator 4 will be expected to proactively oversee the health of these systems to resolve observed and reported issues in a timely manner. This role is part of the Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) group and works in coordination with other ECSAs as well as other infrastructure and application teams to support the Epic platform. In addition to administering the Microsoft Windows server infrastructure, the lead ECSA is responsible for applying server system updates and upgrades. They will work collaboratively with the DBA Team and other IS technical staff to install, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor and optimize our Epic applications, environments and the systems they run on. This includes our Epic Cache databases, Epic ancillary Windows applications, and Data Courier migrations and administration. This position will be participating in or leading EMR downtimes and upgrades. This position assists with setting requirements and standards for the team, and actively coaches junior team members. Required Qualifications
Experience in Healthcare Information Systems setting.
More than 3 years' experience in Epic Client Systems Administration.
More than 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Workstation OS, IIS, Active Directory and GPO.
More than 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS, SQL server, Print server and Disk management.
More than 3+ years' experience with Printing, Faxing and Scanning.
More than 3+ years' experience with Load Balancing solutions.
More than 3+ years' experience with Network technologies LAN, WAN, Firewall, Wireless, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
More than 3+ years' experience with web security SSL/TLS.
More than 3+ years' experience with web and systems integration concepts and protocols.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word).
Certified Epic Client Systems Administrator - BLOB, Business Continuity Access, and Printing.
Certified Epic Client Systems Administrator - Care Everywhere.
Certified Epic Client Systems Administrator - Hyperspace Web, Interconnect, and System Pulse.
Certified Epic Client Systems Administrator - MyChart and MyChart Mobile.
Epic Chronicles certification or equivalent experience.
Epic Data Courier certification or equivalent experience.
More than 3 years' experience with Unix\AIX\Cache.
More than 3 years' experience with web service API's: Soap, XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, REST.
More than 3 years' experience with Anti-virus.
More than 3 years' experience with login workflows, CCOW, SSO, and Two-factor authentication systems.
Successfully complete training or certifications as required by hiring manager. Some travel may be required for training certification.
Required to pass Epic certification exam in three attempts within six months of hire date.
Valid California driver's License.
Travel in the Northern California region may be required. Reliable transportation is necessary for off-site visits. Mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed per UC Policy. Occasional out of state travel may be required to attend training.
Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to meet committed project dates.
Must be able to work extra hours (nights and weekends) and must be available for a 24-hour a day on-call rotation.
Speak, hear, and see well enough to perform system configurations and telephone consulting on own or with reasonable accommodation.
