Our Athletics program complements Menlo School’s rigorous college preparatory program with an extensive offering of highly competitive team sports, providing girl and boy students the opportunity to develop mind, body and character for themselves, their teams and their school.
We look for coaches who encourage our student athletes to practice graciousness, respect and honesty for their teammates, competitors, coaches and officials. Our coaches help students learn the importance of “sound body, sound mind,” with physical conditioning and nutrition.
We are looking for an exceptional coach for our Junior Varsity Girls Lacrosse program. The successful candidate will have competitive lacrosse coaching experience either at the high school, college and/or elite club level. The candidate shall have the ability to teach lacrosse skills, technique and strategy, conduct practices, motivate players and improve the skills of lacrosse players of varying abilities.
This is a part-time, seasonal role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Organize, direct, and administer the JV Girls Lacrosse Team.
Teach skills, rules, strategy, and assist with effective training sessions.
Stay current on all on Athletics rules and policies within the WBAL and CCS.
Reinforce guidelines and team rules.
Model the importance of sportsmanship and foster a team-player attitude.
Provide a safe environment for student-athletes (physically and mentally).
Work collaboratively and effectively with the Athletic Trainers, Sports Performance Coaches, Equipment Manager, other coaches, Facilities personnel and others in the Department.
Ability to work with parents, faculty, staff and students in a constructive manner - even under stressful conditions.
Ability to both represent as well as teach the school’s Mission and Values as an integral part of the educational experience.
Ability to bring fun and joy to practice and competitions.
At least three years prior lacrosse coaching experience at the high school, college and/or elite club level.
Experience that includes knowledge of National Federation High School (NFHS) rules and regulations of the sport and a knowledge of adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation is preferred.
Possession of valid, unexpired CPR, and First Aid certifications.
