ResponsibilitiesTo provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an on-going basis and oversee other nurse practitioners. This includes managing scheduling, time off requests and organizational oversight of the work unit to ensure the competence and qualifications of direct reports. Management of the NP team will be a collaborative effort with the NP manager with contribution and recommendations for hiring, on-boarding and counseling. NP's are expected to act as an expert resource person for health care providers including nurses, residents and other ancillary staff. Required Qualifications
One year or greater experience in a nursing leadership role (formal or informal).
At least one year inpatient NP experience
Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Possession of valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license.
UCD DEA Certification (upon hire or maintain certification)
National NP Board Certification in aligned specialty with the practice area
Current American Heart Association CPR, PALS, and ACLS
ATLS within 6 months of hire
At least one year clinical experience in the care of trauma patients
Recent acute care, ED, and/or ICU experience
Ability to work flexible/variable hours
Able to lift 25 pounds
Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider
