The NP serving as the Outpatient Care Unit/ Orthopedic NP is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a licensed independent practitioner, and is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws.
The part time Outpatient Care Unit at CHH2 NP has the responsibility to be scheduled and/or allocated to the Outpatient Care Unit for the medical and post- operative management of their overnight stay surgical day patients. The NP delivers care to Day Surgery patients requiring overnight stay up to 2 night stays.
When not working in the OCU at CHH2, the Orthopedic surgery service NP has the responsibility to be scheduled and/or allocated to Orthopedic Surgery for medical management of their acute care patients. Additionally, the Orthopedic NP is responsible to partner with the patient and family and nurse case manager to impact timely and effective discharges and patient flow; impact patient and family experience through communication and education; mentor residents, clinical nurses and others; promote an interdisciplinary approach to care; and support new processes to improve patient outcomes.
Masters Degree as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider role.
Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position description.
Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
Regular and consistent attendance at work
Current licensure as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s).
BLS Certificate at time of hire
