ResponsibilitiesThe Database Administrator 4 will implement industry best practices including audit and security, database architecture, installation, configuration, performance and administration, incident management, configuration management, change management, database license compliance and backup and recovery of all related enterprise databases. Provide 24 x 7 x 365 critical database service and support to enable flow of data and information, which is vital to the day to day operation of the UC Davis Health System. The Database Administrator 4 will have advanced knowledge of database administration. The technologies to manage are Cache on AIX and on Windows platforms. As a member of a highly motivated team, the Database Administrator 4 should be dedicated to excellence and have a strong sense of personal responsibility. The Database Administrator 4 incumbent is a seasoned professional with solid experience in large-scale database technology and architecture. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science. Experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Extensive experience with Epic EMR Cache database Administration, with at least half of that in a large Healthcare Environment.
Extensive years of experience with Enterprise database management systems.
Experience in providing support for application development teams and familiarity with SDLC in an agile environment.
Experience using monitoring and alerting tools such as Red Alert, System Pulse and SiteScope.
Experience with the following database administration functions: database definition, storage allocation, security administration, database reorganization, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
Industry professional certifications in Cache.
Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server Database Administration.
Experience DBA level understanding of Active Directory and other LDAP technologies.
Experience of Webservers and Middleware technologies.
Must be able to work extra hours (nights and weekends) if important development is behind schedule or the correction of problems with operational systems is considered critical.
Must be able to receive calls after hours for database support and escalation.
