Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Intellectual Property & Subsidiary Rights, the Contract Administrator will draft and issue standard contracts and rights licenses based on terms created and negotiated by Director of Intellectual Property & Subsidiary Rights. These activities are time-consuming and require careful handling and attention to detail. These activities are crucial to our ongoing success in selling and collecting rights revenue on behalf of UC Press and its authors.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Ensuring that all licenses for books published are fully executed and advances paid. Posting all contracts and terms to SharePoint.
Creating ISBNs and title records in Title Management.
Assisting in registering copyright for all books that UC Press publishes.
Watermark files for submission to foreign publishers to protect against copyright infringement.

Gather information and send materials as necessary in response to contract requests.
Job Requirements High school diploma and four to five years of administrative experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Solid knowledge of administrative procedures and processes including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
Ability to learn and effectively use proprietary and vendor applications.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to track, prioritize and complete work within deadlines.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
