A Postdoctoral Research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrey Ryabinin, Department of Behavioral Neuroscience at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
Research in this lab focuses on neurocircuitry and social aspects of alcohol abuse and drug addiction. A combination of behavioral and molecular techniques is applied to animal models of these disorders. In particular, this lab uses prairie vole and mouse models of addiction, pain and social bonding.
Planning and designing research experiments; establishing priorities and recommending schedules, time tables and costs.
Data collection, processing and analysis, including statistical analyses, presentation of project results, and producing written reports on the result of analyses.
Training and supervising staff, graduate assistants, and student employees.
PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related field
Knowledge of behavioral experiments with rodents, sterile neurosurgery, microscopy, immunohistochemistry, or in situ hybridization
Knowledge of brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, pharmacology, intracranial surgery
Expertise in olfactory neuroscience
Expertise in organic chemistry of small molecules
