The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor – Water Resources Engineering with focus in the areas of:
a)Physical and numerical modeling of hydraulic, sediment transport and geomorphological processes b)Sensing and visualization of water quantity and quality c)Quantification and treatment of nonpoint source pollution d)Urban river restoration
The key objective is to hire faculty members with outstanding qualifications who share the University's core values of high standards of excellence in teaching, innovative and collaborative research, and service, combined with fostering an open and inclusive environment and with promoting diversity and participation of groups that are currently underrepresented in engineering fields. A major emphasis will be on potential collaboration for research with faculty members within and outside the department.
Duties and responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, building and leading a team of Ph.D. student researchers, collaborating with faculty across disciplines, developing an externally funded research program that yields top-tier publications, and serving on committees within UTA and the research community.
Candidates must have earned (by September 1, 2020) a Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering area. Candidates must have demonstrated exceptional research promise and show a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a relevant engineering field.
