Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 540 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a full-time Campus Manager in our Middle and High School for the 2019-2020 Academic Year. The Campus Manager is a member of the administrative staff and works closely with the Advancement team, the Attainment team, faculty, staff, students, and parents. This position starts January 6th, 2020, and reports directly to the Director of High School.
The Campus Manager is the initial contact for the Middle and High School Campus. The position is charged with overseeing and managing the daily operations of the River Campus, including the upkeep of school property, first aid duties, and managing the front desk. The Campus Manager must be analytical, service-oriented, detail-oriented, and have the ability to be flexible and multi-task in an ever-changing environment. It is essential for the Campus Manager to effectively interact with and serve a variety of constituents, including parents, students, volunteers, faculty, and staff.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the River Campus, ensuring that all inspections, maintenance issues and any issues that come up are handled in an efficient and timely manner.
Answer and transfer incoming calls
Greet and assist students, parents, faculty, staff, visitors, vendors, etc. with a variety of needs
Open the campus each morning at 7:45 a.m. and close campus each afternoon at 5:00 p.m. Lunch and breaks will be covered.
Monitor campus attendance emails
Input student attendance records and notes into established systems
Manage Maintenance Staff, as well as parent &/or student volunteers.
Assist substitute teachers working on campus; coordinate last minute substitute teacher needs
Keep track of and order campus supplies as needed
Facilitate emergency drills and implement emergency protocol when needed
Work closely with the administrative team to attend to facility and operation needs
Maintain and manage reserved parking spaces on campus
Administer and track parking violations
Manage vehicle pool
Administer basic First Aid and medication
Maintains River Campus Medical Contact cards and Emergency Action Plans in the Campus Safety Binder
Manage campus lost and found and maintain faculty lounge
Monitor student conduct emails and support transitioning a student to the appropriate administrator
Ancillary front desk responsibilities (two way radio batteries, mail, reception, procedural updates, Bus/Van reservations)
Assist Registrar in collecting and recording of enrollment paperwork
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking to diverse audiences
Previous experience working with children preferred
Working knowledge of building management preferred
Professional in person and through online and telephone communications
Passionate about education and children
Strong analytical skills including organization, ability to work with systems in place and to come up with solutions
Proficient in using Excel and Google Suite, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and beyond
Ability to be flexible to achieve goals in a dynamic environment
Some movement throughout the day is generally necessary (e.g., standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, and/or kneeling). Light lifting of materials and other objects associated within a school environment is required (e.g., boxes, products, up to approximately 20 lbs.). This is an exempt, salaried position which reports directly to the Director of High School. Normal office hours will be Monday - Friday, 7:45 am - 5:00 pm. Occasional nights and weekends will be required. This position is benefits eligible.
