Department Description The Department of Public Affairs and Marketing plans, manages, and implements strategic communications (such as news services, public relations, marketing, internal and external communications) for UC Davis Health. Communications are aimed at a wide range of key constituencies, such as the news media; UC administration, UC Davis faculty, staff and students;government/regulatory leaders, external physicians, business leaders, patients and health care consumers, and the general public. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Digital Communications Director and in coordination with the social media strategist, develop, implement, maintain, monitor and measure digital content for UC Davis Health. Responsible for the curation, creation and elevation of content/stories to promote and elevate UC Davis Health.Write, design, create/produce, implement, review and edit compelling and engaging digital content while ensuring strategically appropriate messaging, Creatively illustrate stories with appropriate images, videos or other visual media that help tell the story. Produce live social events via relevant social broadcasting tools Develop, and execute digital organic and paid social media campaigns in coordination with the Social Media Strategist and department directors.Independently manage day-to-day content of various social media channels. Maintain an editorial calendar for key social media initiatives to ensure fresh, timely and engaging content that aligns with overall communication goals.Systematically monitor conversations, traffic and trends in social media; assess opportunities for and threats to brand reputation. Independently and regularly review and update content to ensure currency and accuracy of content and graphic standards.Address and manage the health system's reputation by monitoring social channels and conversations Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in writing, editing and storytelling skills to develop engaging and compelling stories, messages and visuals for digital consumption which embrace and adhere to an organization's brand standards and communication style guidelines.
Experience and skills to produce high quality, engaging, and visually interesting still photos and video images/videography for a variety of communications. Superior photo editing skills and ability. Skills and ability to use video editing software.
Experience and skills to analyze and report performance in various social media channels and tools; make necessary adjustments and optimize content to meet goals and objectives.
Strong knowledge of and experience with social media platforms/tools and an understanding of audience demographics and how they use these tools
Strong project management skills
Proven skills in professionalism and diplomacy
